Stamps: Iris Frame and Painted Lady Butterfly by My Heart Stamps for You
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic Sketch Markers
Embellishments: Ranger Firefly Stickles
Tools:Square Lattice embossing folder, Marvy corner scallop punch
Paper: Black, White, Grapesicle (Festive Variety Pack), Recollections Purple Pinstripe

Purple happens to be one of my favorite colors, so imagine my delight when Sandra and Betsy, owners of Dolce Stamps and Cards, sent me this awesome iris image by My Heart Stamps 4 You. Copic markers are pretty much my go to coloring medium, although I do enjoy watercoloring with reinkers as well. I just love how well the Copic markers blend colors, especially on flowers and this beautiful butterfly also by My Heart Stamps 4 You. I also favor polkadots and stripes in many of my designs, and I liked how well the striped designer paper accented the beautiful irises.

This was a very simple card to make! I just love this Art Impression Hatta Girls Stamp! So many possibilities! I stamped only one of the ladies from this stamp and colored her in with a black copic marker to create a silhouette image. I clear embossed her and cut her out. I popped her up on cream paper that had been aged with distress inks and layer her on Spellbinder's Ovals and Lacey Ovals. I added some Petaloo Flowers that and been inked with Ranger's Tea Dye ink and prettied up with some black circles and Crystal Stickers-Peals. Did Some faux stiching around the edges and added some ribbon to the corners to finish it off. I hope you like my sassy little card!

This was a fun image to play with! I'm not used to such a big image so I was challenged. Who wouldn't love to dance like NO-ONE is watching...or sing for that matter?
I colored the dancers with copics and added glitter pen to their skirts to make their dresses pop.

These Girlfriend images are so much fun to color, especially with Copic markers! I added a polkadotted pattern to the purple coat on the far right with light touches from just the tip of my Copic marker. I don't use orange much in my designs, but it was fun incorporating this pretty Cosmo Cricket Salt Air designer paper into my card sketch. I especially liked it for the paper piecing on the umbrella.

These images just crack me up!! I stamped the image twice and only colored one image to cut out. The center lady is just adhered to the white panel and the two on the outside were popped up to give it more dimension. I am still on the learning curve with copics. I added Diamond Glaze to the glasses and the teacups. I also colored a tiny pearl with Copic R29 to coordinate her jewelry.

I love the tones in the Cosmo Cricket Salt Air papers, so I used these as inspiration for colour theme, whilst maintaining the essence of the fun image… mixing fun and vintage is cool when you think about sending this card to an “oldie” that you hold dear… I coloured up embellishments with corresponding copic markers to get the tones all a-matchy!

Moving things

On Mondays our store in Seattle is closed so I took the time to go down and buy more shelving units for all the new things we are bringing in. Today was a day of rearranging products all over the store - again! It seems whenever we bring in a new vendor we have to rethink how we have everything displayed so that we can squeeze in more great things. Well, we did it. The new JustRite stamps and Kits and Spellbinders dies and Stampers are all up and out where everyone can see them! We even managed to create a couple holes for new things yet to come - which is good because we are always ordering new things.

New Doings at Dolce!

Didn't mean to be so neglectful - I was up to my elbows in our new order of JustRite products! Yes, that is what was in those 2 giant boxes that came in earlier this week and his taken me this long to unpack them all and get them all organized! I will be putting the pictures up on the website today so be sure to check them out. There are a couple of really great features about these stamps. One is that they have some monogram sets and alphabet sets that let you write your own messages - I don't know of any other stamps that you can personalize like these! The second feature that makes these stamps really special is that JustRite has partnered with SpellBinders and has both custom dies that work with some of their stamps and other stamps that are designed to match regular Spellbinder's Dies - and we carry the coordinating Spellbinder's Dies too!

Growing Every Day

We're getting in so many new things we're hanging slotwalls on every inch of space we can find, even the doors!
We just added these new pieces yesterday to hang our new Petaloo flowers and make room for other new products we have coming in. We are busting at the seams with fun things to make beautiful cards. If you are in the area, be sure to stop in and check out our store in Seattle.
