Well it was definitely going to be about "getting away" when I saw this image, I know soooo many people who pack up and head west for a touch of camping, and I wanted to characterise this with a red ute (truck) and a beige caravan this month..... and I added in the obligatory sunshine and blue skies, and a well wish adorned with the totally fabby nailheads, these are such a great addition for a masculine card, and great in the coloured tones, such as these red ones... all around fun really!

Ellen - Spirit of the Wolf

Designer: Ellen Taylor
Date Posted: August 23, 2011

Category: Animals, Nature
Stamps: Local Rubber King Stamps: Wolves, Tree 3
Ink: Adirondack Denim and Cloudy Blue, Memento Tuxedo Black, Black Marker, Versamark, Stazon, Dove Gray
Embellishments: Brads
Tools: Heat Tool, Brayer, Silver Embossing Powder, Sponge, EK Success 3D Dots, Spellbinders Circles
Paper: Navy Black, White, Silver Mirror Paper

I love to use my brayer! A quick way to make a card with amazing results! Would you like to know how to make this card? I thought so....I started by brayering Cloudy Blue ink 1/3 of the way down. To create the moon use a Spellbinders circle die cut over the card stock to create a mask. and brayer Denim ink over top of the circle. Remove the circle and stamp the wolf inside the moon in gray. Stamp the trees in black (Twice on the left side and on the right side I just turned the same tree stamp 90 degrees and stamped it.) Stamp the silhouette wolves where you would like the ground to be in black. I didn't here but sometimes I want a taller tree and just extend the trunk with a black marker. This type of inking is very forgiving~you just can't go wrong! Next using a pouncing motion, sponge black ink from the bottom up to cover the feet of the wolves. To create grass just use your black marker and randomly flick upward with a light hand. Emboss the sentiment and pop the 2 top layers up with 3D dots. Add some brads in the corner and you are done. I sure hope you give it a try!

Stamps: KOI FISH by Local King Rubber Stamp
Ink: Stazon Black, Cool Carribean
Embellishments: Mark Richards Nailheads Metal Stickers
Tools: Orange, Blue, Smoky Quartz, and Gold Glitters, modern label punch, embossing folder, sponge dauber
Paper
: Whisper White, Blue Mulberry, Acetate

I tried something new to me with this card: I “colored” the koi fish image with glitter. Using black Stazon ink, I stamped the image onto clear acetate. I flipped it over and applied Glossy Accents and the various colors of glitter. I found it easiest to cut the image before applying the glitter. It sparkles so pretty in real life. I embossed the blue mulberry paper with a bubbles embossing folder.

Tools: Bone Folder, heat gun, detail scissors, Big Shot, 3D Foam Squares, Tombow tape runner
Paper: The Paper Cut Festive Variety Pack: Blu Raspberry, cloud background DP, basic white, pink gingham DP

This was a fun and simple card to make. Each balloon is cut out with detail scissors. The pink gingham balloon is popped up with 3D foam squares to give it dimension. I've never had any hot air balloon stamps, so I was happy to make a card that featured them. About 10 miles from where I live you can see them setting off into the sky every now and then. It is quite a sight!

Judy - Sunset Frog

Stamps: Local King Rubber Stamps “Friendship” (6)
Ink: Memento black
Embellishments: natural jute twine, buttons
Tools: Spellbinders wonky rectangles, black millennium Zig artist pen, Prisma Color Pencils
Martha Stewart border punch, Sizzix starburst embossing folder, blending stumps
Paper: The Paper Cut Festive Variety Pack Orange Fizz & Sour Apple, black, yellow, dp

I have to admit that I did an online search to see how differently frogs can be colored..
I didn't just want an all green one. So, this is what I came up with.
The leaves have been embossed for texture... what fun.. cause it doesn't really
matter what embossing folder you use.. any texture would look great, then I
crinkled them a bit on the ends.
I use prisma pencils for coloring and blend with an odorless turpentine using
paper stubbies.
I thought the starburst was the perfect hint of Sunset look..
Hope you Check out Dolce Stamps and Cards Store for more great
Local King Stamps, you will love them.

1/2'' circle punch
Paper: The Paper Cut Earth Variety Pack Tuscan Sun, Hot Fudge & Jellybean Green, SU:burgundy, vanilla, Yellow: Bo Bunny

I love Sunflowers. My dining room is full of them!
I wanted to try a different look and to use the beautiful Local King Rubber Stamp in a different way. I left the card stock in the die and sponged Mushroom ink everywhere except the middle. Then I stamped the Sunflower stamp from (Local King Rubber) in a dark green in the center. I love how it turned out.
I then embossed the pumpkin layer and added it to the green card stock base. I topped it with copper ribbon and added the labels to the top. The brown layer label is up on foam tape. I then sponged and added the flower and leaves along the side and finished it off with copper Nail heads.
I really think that the 5 x 5 format fits the label 14 very well – I really love the way theis card turned out.

Tools: Spellbinders: Fancy Tags Two, Nestabilities--Circles Sm & Lg; 3D Dots, Just Rite 3 1/4” dia wooden stamper
Paper: My Mind's Eye: Stella & Rose--Hazel; XPressIt: Blending Card

I always look at JR Stamps and think how lovely they are all ready to be used in a set, image inside circle... but with this card I wanted to use the circle a little independently of the image, so I went with a 3D version of the flower, which is off-set by the circle border, this allowed me to use the stamps as the focal point of the card, but stretch them across the vertical plain of space... I liked this and it allowed me to include one of the fabby little JR sentiments too!

Embellishments: none
Tools: watercolor brushes, Crystal Lacquer, Spellbinder’s Classic Oval and Oval Scalloped Nestabilities, Horizontal Stampers Nested Frames dies, lattice border punch, White Galaxy Marker, dimensional, large corner rounder, Just Rite 2 ¼” x 3 1/16” wooden stamper
Paper: yellow cardstock

I am in LOVE! Yes, in love with the Just Rite’s Beautiful Blossoms Set, the Mini Sentiments and Custom Tag Dies! I just couldn’t decide which floral image to use first, so I decided to make an all occasion gift set of four cards. I watercolored the flower images with reinkers and a watercolor brush. Once they were dry and cut out using the oval Nestabilities, I applied Crystal Lacquer for added shine to the flowers and leaves. I was able to add the white dotting on top of the Crystal Lacquer (once dried, of course) with my white Galaxy permanent marker. I really wanted the focus of my cards to be on the Beautiful Blossoms images, so I kept my layers to a minimum and did not add any embellishments. I made my own background designer paper using Itty Bitty backgrounds in the coordinating colors for each card.

Ink: Stazon Black, Memento Rich Cocoa, Ranger's Distress Ink- Pine Needles, Markers
Embellishments: Kaiser Rhinestones, White Ribbon, Sakura Glaze Pen
Tools: Spellbinders-Lacey Ovals, Labels Eighteen, Circles-, Score Tape, Sponge Dauber, Water Pen, Acrylic Block (to pick up the ink) and a 4 X 6 Notebook , Just Rite 3 1/4” dia wooden stamper
Paper: Green, Brown, White, Cosmo Cricket-Odds and Ends Remnants

I love to make practical things and since my memory has gone the wayside, I always keep a notebook in my purse. These JustRite Birdhouse stamps were just the right size to embellish the front of a notebook! Very versatile stamps! I stamped the image in Black Stazon (so the ink won't run when I water color) and water colored the image with marker, by scribbling on an acrylic block and picking up the ink with a water pen. I layered the image on a couple of complimentary Spellbinders Dies. I threaded some ribbon through the holes in the Lacey Oval. I cut my sentiment out the the Spellbinders die that comes in the Tag making set. Sponged everything in Memento Rich Cocoa, except the Green is sponged with Ranger's Pine Needles. This was finished off with some Kaiser Rhinestones. Whenever I create something that needs to be sturdy, I always use Score Tape. I find it is the best to keep my projects together.

Paper: Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, Marina Mist, Elegant Soiree dp by Stampin’ Up

For my card design today, I knew I wanted to do sort of a patchwork background design with this beautiful Elegant Soiree designer paper and that gave me my basic sketch design and color scheme for my card. I stamped and water colored the floral image twice so I could cut out the second one and layer it on top of the other one for dimension. I intentionally set it off just a little so you can see the image stamped underneath. I water colored the flower image with reinkers and a water color brush, using Marina Mist for the petals and a mixture of Crumb Cake and Soft Suede for the flower center. I paper pierced the Very Vanilla layer and did some faux stitching with a Chocolate Chip marker. I sponged the outer edges of this same panel with Chocolate Chip.

Stamps: JustRite- Bird House Set , Inkadinkado-bird
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, Adirondack Mushroom

Tools: Spellbinders lacy circles and plain circles, Tim Holtz- fence,
EK Success leaf and flower punch, gamsol, prisma color pencils
Paper: white, black, dp, bazzil brown and green, soft blue

I really had fun designing this. It took a while to get the words to come out as my vision.
I cut out the circle words by hand, cut the circle in half, distressed the edges and
then antiqued them with Adirondack mushroom.
I had this vision of cutting the words apart - it took me awhile to get just the right placement so they didn't look stuck in midair.
Hope you like it!

Stamps: JustRite Birdhouses

Embellishments: Metal Stickers 5mm Nail Heads, Stickles- Xmas Red, Stickles- Stardust, 1/8th Red Satin Ribbon, EK 3D Dots,
Tools: Spellbinders Circles, Sizzex Tim Holtz Damask Embossing Folder, Blender Pen, Acrylic Block, Just Rite 3 1/4” dia wooden stamper
Paper: The PaperCut Jellybean Green (Earth Variety Pack), White

This is a quick simple card to make! This image reminded me of Christmas and how I always scramble in December to make a birthday card for my friend. I colored the image by scribbling on an acrylic block and picking up the ink with a blender Pen. I do this when I don't have all the colors in ink pads I want to use. I added Stardust stickles to the pine cones and some Xmas Red Stickles to the heart on the birdhouse and the berries. Popped the main image up with some EK 3D Dots and kept this card very simple. Only embossing One layer with the Sizzex Damask Embossing Folder and adding some Nail Heads in the corners and 2 small red bows. It feels good to get ahead of the December cards!
